Dear guests in my home,

Updated: Jun 5, 2024

I don’t want my home to impress you.

Sounds weird coming from someone who is launching a fledgling decorating business...but I don’t.

Instead, I want you to have snacks and drinks and a wifi password.

I want you to feel you know me better from seeing the art and books and ingredients on my shelves.

I want you to remember the questions I asked, the new inside jokes that were formed, that one thing that went embarrassingly wrong that now everyone will remember next time.

I want you to see enough of me that you feel safe sharing yourself in return.

I don’t want my home to be aspirational or aesthetic. I don’t want you to remember how my home looks. I want you to remember how you felt when you walked in.

And if you do take a decorating lesson, I want it to be that you are equipped to unleash your own self in your home. I hope my home inspires you to take a risk perhaps.

And I hope when you leave that you want to return...and next time we'll have cupcakes.

xoxo
